Sanctuary is an immersive location-based audio experience that invites you to unwind and unfurl within the serene and tranquil green-spaces of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, creating a uniquely nourishing and reflective experience.
It is the work of ambient composer Gabriel Byrne (Te Rarawa) and runs on a platform built for Lōemis festival by Robin Marshall.
The App is free and downloadable from June 9.
This project was made possible thanks to our Lōemis Membership scheme – if you would like to support future Lōemis events like this, please visit our Supporters page here.
Gabriel Byrne – Kodama 木
Kodama 木 is the ambient project of Te Whanganui-a-tara based sound artist Gabriel Byrne (Te Rarawa).
Deeply inspired by the mesmerising interconnected energy of nature, his music gently weaves intimate field recordings from the innermost forests of Aotearoa with spacious evolving atmospheres that flow from an unknown place within.
Kodama’s music invites you inward, to slow down and explore the garden of your soul.
