About.

Lōemis (pron. lew-mis) is an annual midwinter arts festival that takes place in locations around Wellington. We have a focus on staging new works that are fantastical, mystical and transformative. The festival occurs around the time of the winter solstice, Maruaroa o Takurua, and usually precedes Puanga and Matariki.

Who.

Lōemis is created by local artists, underpinned by a small creative team led by Andrew Laking with support from Tim Fraser (design) and Miranda Manasiadis (artistic planning).
